How much are balljoints to replace? Is it DIY-able? I'm gettin the same clunking and have new axles.

jack the car up (wheel off the ground) , and see if you feel any excessive movements side to side up and down.

then visually inspect all 3 on each side.

The boots are diy, but for new baljoints you will need a press

Sounds like ur motor mounts are bad. If the whole engine moves when u turn a wheel, thats a problem.
