Do any of your RSX's Type S or base burn oil between oil changes, and if it does how much?

And what's wrong with that? That's not even really ready to be changed.
You should spend some time on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com

My EP3 is down almost a quart of Mobil 1 0w-20 by 7500 miles. It's got ~26k on the odo.

it is normal for the k20 motor to burn oil. honda states that the motor can burn up to 1qt every 1k miles. the best thing is to check the oil every other week to keep it full. the harder you drive the car the more it will burn oil.

Especially the first couple of oil changes, it does seem that the K motors will use more oil than the owners of older Honda models would expect.

It doesn't go on forever.

I use to burn maybe a 1/2 quart every 1500 miles. I am at 14k now and the car has not burned a drop since my last oil change at 12k.

Much of the lost oil may be going throught the PCV system, you may want to consider a cheap catch can to see if you can stop some of it.

I built one at Home Depot for about $50 total...it catches a descent amount on my car. Any oil you can keep from entering the engine is a good thing.

Yeah, my RSX is rediculous... I put a quart in it every 1k - 2k miles. But it's generating
more HP and plus I have my foot in it all the time.

so it burns oil from reving high, or it just burns oil all the time? Does the prelude have the same problem?

I rarely get over 4500 rpm. So mine doesn't burn because I rev it high.

The Prelude H22 does have a problem but it's due to cylinder wall materials.
The liners are referred to as fiber-reinforced metal (FRM) cylinder sleeves.
They are known to let a little oil by.

EVERY and all VTEC motors burn oil, Why? Because of the high reving nature of the motors. Prelude motors burn through oil just like a B18C, B16,F20C,F20B,K20,K24.

Where did you obtain your info? The FRM lining has nothing to do with burning oil, the only problem presented by the FRM is to the Aftermarket piston companies, and anyone wanting to run forged pistons in an H22.

Mine burned a decent amount of oil on the track. I think the dealership put 5k instead of 4k on the sticker for oil changes. I was running Redline 5w20. I did 2 sessions of track racing and notice that my vtec was not engaging at 6k but rather 7k.

This got me worried. So I pulled in and saw no oil on the stick. I added 2 quarts and it got me to the first line. I have since ditched the 5w20 and gone with a 10w30 redline synthetic oil. My car also has 80k miles on it. Other then that the car runs like a champ.

From what I've read about the oil consumption issue, the FRM walls tend to be a little less smoothly "polished" than iron liners, and retain slightly more oil on their surface after being wiped by the rings.

I believe the S2000 consumes oil? (FRM also)

Due to the improper seating of the rings.

Dealerships consider burning 1qt./1000 miles normal on the H22.

Improper seating of piston rings? now you are getting out there. 'Honda' Actually states that thier VTEC motors burn 1qt for every 1K mile, the dealer must comply with that. All VTEC motor manauls states the 1qt for 1k mile, this is not limited to the H22A or the F20C. The k20A2/k20a3/K24 has FRM the C32A (NSX) has FRM, are these plaqued by the same falacies of improper ring seating and oil burning that seems to be so 'problematic' to only the H22A?

I've noticed that my EP seems to be burning more oil than normal these days. 25K miles or so.

When Honda warranties an excessive oil consumer, they replace the shortblock.
Earlier H22 models had two different ring suppliers. One is know to be problematic.

I don't know enough about the other engines you mentioned.
But they do have something in common...(and not every driver revs high)
