ITR exhaust on an LS...
Just curious who is running an ITR catback on their Teg... I am looking at buying one and curious as to how people like it. I like the idea of a quiet exhaust that is cost effective and still a performance gain. Also, how was the fitment? Was it a big issue or did it bolt right up?
<--- ITR Catback on my 1999 LS.
Fitment is 100% bolt on, direct fit.
LOVE the sound, a bit throatier than the original LS setup.
Performance gains are minimal, but if you can get your hands on the exhaust it is well worth it. Just don't go out of your way going crazy looking for it and expect some miracilous improvement over stock.
BTW, did an experiment for Physics Lab class... some comparisons taken with a high sensitivity microphone (just the axleback was changed, b-pipe remained from the ITR setup).

Lower frequency ranges means deeper sound (in general), higher amplitude means louder volume. The sound pressure graphs depict, in a way, the "throatier" sound effect of the ITR exhaust.

Seriously cool info man. I love seeing someone backup their statement with hard evidence like that. I am by no means going out of my way to get this exhaust, but like I said....performance gains with a nice quiet tone is my agenda. Not too mention, a reasonable cost.
I have an ITR exhaust on my 4/dr LS. I have the 4/dr muffler and an extended ITR b-pipe. Only problem i have is the resonator is always hitting the ground. Oh well, I'm planning on replacing it some day.
i kno what ya mean man. i hate going on the highway and listening to that loud continuous drone. but i do kno of one exhaust that is very quiet when youre cruising around and a bit louder when you get on it, i think its spelled fujitsubo. i rode in an ep3 civic and i couldnt even tell he had an exhaust on it when we were idling along with the other traffic.

I have a CTR B pipe with a JDM ITR rear section.
I used to have a CTR catback on my old EG(which fit perfect by the way). When I switched chassis, I found out that the b-pipes are identical.
I love my Type-R catback.

I put an ITR catback on my LS, and got no gains. Your exhaust is only as good as it's smallest part... If your header and cat are still the stock size don't expect to feel a difference.
I am not expecting to feel a difference with just the catback. But, when I put headers and a test pipe on I will be expecting some gains. The bottom line is I wanted a quiet and still larger catback. The ITR catback fills those requirements so I wanted to see how people liked the exhaust and how well it fit. Not too mention I am getting it for about 200-300 cheaper than any other "good" catback out on the market.

Header, not headers, since your car only has one.
