Fluctuating(sp?) Fuel Needle
Well my problem is that my fuel needle keeps going up and down as i drive. Its not sporatic or anything but it slowly declines then climbs when my car is at a stop. This is the second week since it has done it.
Last week I filled her up and noticed it didnt go to the top. I was like WTF. So i drove home it still stayed at 3/4 tank. The next day I woke up and its at the top line, usually when i fill her up it goes beyond that first bold line. When i pull to a stop the needle slowly drops and just stays there and then it kinda rises again then falls back down. It only drops like 1/4 of the way. Its a on going cycle and trips me out. Could it be the fuel tank reader inside the tank itself or what could be wrong?
Also my light bulb for that needle is blown too but its been blown for a while now. It comes on on occasions though. I would hate to have to replce my whole freakin cluster and have my mileage all off.
I drive a 6th gen BTW and my golly has Honda quality gone down. My 94 was better than this heap of junk.

Well it's probably either the fuel sending unit or the fuel gauge itself. I had a similar problem in my 94 and because of other issues I ended up just replacing the whole cluster with a used one. That seems to have fixed the gauge problem. As for the light, it can be replaced so there's no need to get another cluster. Just remove the cluster and replace the blown light. Same goes for the fuel gauge. See if you can't pick one up at a salvage yard.
happens to all hondas, i have a 90 accord and that happens to me all the time. i go down a hill and park, it seems like i lost 2-3 gallons, go driving on flat land, up 2-3 gallons.
even happens on my friend's civic hatch.
