2005 NHRA Possible Predications
Figured with the new drivers switching all over the place let's see what you guys think will dominate next year.
PRORWD: George Ioannu He is just making toooo much HP on those Nissan's and is too experienced to win.
PROFWD: Marty Ladwig (I will root for our team as always but......Too too much support with GM people and $$$$$ and engineering and everything.)
Modified: I'm rootin for Ken Scheepers but Efantis is going damn fast and consistent
HotRod: Ron Lummus Steve Bothwell is too crazy and focused.
All Motor: Vince Tiaga (This car is gonna move, I helped build the damn thing)
Good Luck to all Teams Nevertheless.

your not kidding ..bothwell for sure if he turns up in hot rod.....then in pro front, of course we have Marty, but lets not leave out Nelson...hes turning up a sure winner..pro rear,,, nelsons teammate Lisa is always one to bet on.....all motor i sure do bet vince and modified once again paul efantis.......see you guys racing....and good luck as always ron and ed..you guys will be most definitely way on top as well........you never know...racing turns funny tricks
Pro RWD: Steph has my vote had the fastest Et last year and quickest MHP. And hes got a alsome crew behind him and tons of experiance. ( plus its a HONDA
)
Pro FWD: If the NORAD celica gets some testing down and gets the bugs worked out they are gonna be a contender. I also cant wait to see Leevons RSX
. But GM has the engineers, $$$$, and experiance to dominate. I know everyone will give it there all at every race. (Ed, Ron I love cheering for you guys cause you guys try your hardest with what you have.
)
Hotrod: Once lanskey gets the bugs worked out and the engine program down. Hes gonna tear it up. Also Gary and his team finaly have factory backing and a engine program that is solid.
Allmotor: SKUNK2, Sindicate racing, Mark brauning. I feel that basically anyone with a K is gonna dominate. Mid to low nines next year in the all motor class. But who knows Vinces new ride is sick and he has yet to show whats under the front end. Good luck next year Vince.
Good luck to all teams next year man I cant wait. 2005 is the most anticipated race season so far

I would not be totally suprised by a 9.50 or 60, but I think lower may be pushing it.........all the classes are out in the open though, its not like there is a clear favorite in any of the classes if everyone is running when they are supposed to be

they only shaved what, 2-3 tenths off last year? Leslie ran a 9 at the final in 2003, and we still haven't had side-by-side 9's, 1 full year later... i doubt it will get lower than a 9.8x, especially consistantly
Pro Rear: Steph is a favorite, but I'd love to see Hartford shake things up. Don't forget about Scranton, after all, he's the defending champ!!
Pro Front: I say it's a battle of GM's. Even if Rado get's his car together and running, i'm not sure it will be consistent enough to win a championship. Fastest ET's? possible... Bothwell is rumor'd to be throwing together an entry, after seeing what they did last year in 4 races in hot rod, you can't rule them out.
Modified: Efantis. I'm not very well versed in this category...
Hot Rod: Lummus looks to be the man to beat. I'd love to see some of the honda's compete with GM camp - laskey, Tran, etc...
All Motor - I can't wait to see bisi's new ride!! Skunk 2 will be a threat assuming they run the full schedule, i think tiaga will take a year to work out bugs (no offense...)

All Motor: skunk2
Hot Rod: Ron Lummus
Modified: Paul Efantis
PRO FWD: Nelson Hoyos
PRO RWD: Matt Hartford
do not rule out the b-series in the all motor class. I think that there is still room for consistant 9.90's out of a b-series. Wait til the b-series adapter plates hit for the h22 .
All motor will come down to who ever runs more of the circuit. I think 9.70's is a lil more realistic for the class. There are too many restrictions on chassiss design, weight, and electronics that will hold the class back along with all the others.
How fast will NHRA let each class get before that start adding restrictions?

all motor- skunk2
hotrod- lummus
modified- ashfar or Paul E. I also hope Rau does well
pro FWD- Hunt
Pro RWD- dunno.
don't get down Berganholtz bros. I think you will turn some heads this year. money goes a long way but it is the dedication and consistancy that wins races. Get some 7.6's out of the car and run 7.7-7.9 consistant and you are right there with the GM boys

All motor : I think Skunk2 will be strong this yr with the "old skool" Skunk2 car back in the works.
Im seeing alot of 2 car teams coming out next yr, so regardless, this will definetly be a hot season!

This is true, however keep in mind last season was the first year the K series really went into competitive competition. Norris and Skunk2 both ran it fairly well and both ripped into the 9's consistently. Skunk2 hasn't even come close to untapping all the power on that RSX. I'd expect to see 9.50's if not faster to be completely honest.
If everyone was still going B-series then I would see the limitation in stating e.t's. But I think once people get more track time and play time with the K series it's going to rock out really REALLY hard. Just think of the first time 12-11 second B series all motor cars came out. They dropped to 10's and just got faster and faster. It only takes time.

OK, here my predictions:
ProRWD - Steph and George will be a good battle
ProFWD - Nelson and Marty will be tough, but i think Ed will be up there
Modified - Efantis is flying, he will be the man to beat.
Hot-Rod - Lummus will be tough to beat, but don't rule out Gary G.
All-motor - Skunk2 will remain where they are, but some cars like Bisi's new car ( if it gets better traction ), Sindicate Racing's revamped Civic and Leslie's new car will be battling it out. I am hoping that I will be up in there somewhere
There are soooo many new cars coming out. I cannot wait to see the first race, with all the new cars coming out looking so nice
Can't wait to see all you guys again at the first race. Best of luck to all racers
As for the all-motor class going faster, trust me
It will definately be in the mid to low 9's this year!

Modified Easy Street if they get it running right
Hot Rod Gary G imagine what hes gonna do now that hes got backing as well as all the insight and exprerience from GM.

PRORWD = Steph
PROFWD = Gm cars, but i have faith in ed b.
Modified = Efantis
Hot rod = Lumus just looks unbeatable, But i do have faith in laskey after the thing gets dialed in

No, he kept 'blowing up' throughout the season and then between the two Texas races he figured out his problem, fixed it, and then gradually let into it during Ennis.....I promise he will be going strong right out of the box
I believe he is testing at CMI, so maybe you will see there if he lets it hang out at all

I dunno if Steph will be able to hang with George Ioannu's Nissan VQ30 motors. They pushin like over 1800hp from the grapevine. We shall see what happens in testing in Las Vegas with Steph.
