Default Hondata...

I was wondering if anyone has a Hondata for an Auto 94' Accord their willing to sell? I contacted Hondata and they said they used to make a unit for that year and model but discontinued it for lack of sales reasons. I would like a standalone EMS like the Hondata. Any help guys? Please? I am turbocharging my car, but need good E-M!

Thanks!

Can't you just get a s200B and have a Hondata dealer install it for you and tune it?

If I was rich, I'd use AEM EMS, but i'm not, so yea, hondata would work...

im pretty certain the s100 and s200 models do not support automatics cars. i think the earlier stuff like stage2b can be run an automatic but im not positive. i have a stage2b wired to a p75 interga ecu sitting right in front of me waiting to be installed in my accord pretty soon here. check hondata.com to see what you can use and maybe i can sell ya mine if it would work, id like to upgrade to the s200 anyways.

Do guys think I can use a Hondata wired to another ECU (like the one you have from the Teggy')? That would definately be an option if it will work. I need some real info from someone that has dealt with this particular problem. The only reason I bought the auto is because my wife can't drive a standard. I'm buying her a new car this summer and the Accord will become my little driver & toy. That is also the reason for turbocharging it. M O R E P O W E R !

I dont know the answer to that question, but I know a lot of engine swaps use different ECUS, like civics use integra ECUs to go with swaps and tuning...youd have to ask someone that's done it or call Hondata again.

My main concern is this: You have an auto accord. Make sure not to boost it too much or youll blow your tranny! I had an auto and I decided that 5-7 lbs of boost was safe, I settled on 6.

Good luck! Mine failed

Question for you accordselux, How did your auto respond to the turbo. I'm not to worried about achieving max hp, just wanting more getup and go. especially where I'm on the freeway alot. 6psi is more than enough than you think? Please let me know. I'm curious as to the setup you had as well. Thanks for your input.

5psi is good, you get a good kick of power and its a little safer. My car was on its 2nd transmission (98-02 auto trannies suck) and I got the turbo kit on...it worked for one day and the guy had scammed me and did a shitty job of installing and put on inferior parts...so I took it off right away when I saw the smoke coming out of my hood and had Payn Tech take the stuff off and put it back to stock...

My advice: Unless you can do the work yourself with friends, or take it to a REALLY reputable tuner shop, dont try and make a custom kit. Get a good kit like revhard or something and get it put together...

Auto trannies will overheat. The torque converter will go nuts trying to make sense of all this extra power and the added power will overheat and fry the converter. I'd stick wiht low boost (4-7). I'd get a boost controller so I could turn it low/off when I dont want it and up when I do, it might give you more time. In short, it will kill your transmission...how you take care of it will give you more time. Take care of the boost levels, get the job done right. For your tranny, you can get it upgraded by level 10, or you can just change the ATF every 15k instead of 30k and check it regularly.
