Default 2000-2001 S2000 clutch same as 90-91 crx si ???

Well as I was searching for a clutch for my sohc d16a6 turbo I came across something very interesting. As I was comparing part numbers I noticed that the 90-91 crx/civic si 1590cc(1.6L) has a clutch size of 8 3/8in, 212mm, 7/8 spline size and 20 spline clutch disk. Well when looking around comparing part numbers I noticed that the 2000-2001 S2000 clutch had the same part # also had a 8 3/8in, 212mm clutch disk with a 7/8 spline size and 20 spline clutch. Here is the link ... http://www.clutchnet.com/make/honda.html

I know from persoanl experience I have used on my 1990 d16a6 turbo'd engine a 89 si clutch, 89 dx clutch, 94 cx clutch and a 90-91 centerforce duel friction clutch.

Let me know what you guys come up with. Thanks alot ... Chris

Pretty sure S2k is a pull type clutch as opposed to Crx being push type.

I have one of my buddies looking around for a used old beat up s2000 clutch and pressure plate for me to take a look at. I was just curious because the part numbers were the same. If anyone else has any more info. I would really appreatate that, pics of the s2000 clutch would be wicked also. Thanks alot. ... Chris

The pressure plates are different for sure, but the disc could be the same. I wonder about the decking on it, if it's identical. The question becomes if they are the same, is there anything that makes it more desireable? There's already some serious clutches for civics, and frankly the S2000 clutch sucks. A few hard launches and you're back for warranty. I've seen many.

The discs are not the same but they are the same size. The splines on the S2000 are larger 24 tooth (same as '92+ Integra). The center section is much beefier on the S2000 compared to the Civic. The pull type pressure plate on the S2000 is about twice the clamp load compared to the push type Civic. Obviously nothing is interchangable.
