pics of my RHD EG6, also i got pulled over 1 hour ago (details)
well it finally happened....after 71 days or so of having this car, i finally got pulled over....and no my car is not yet registered legally....
ok here's what happened, i was driving along doing the speed limit or somewhere near it, and i was approaching a light, and it turned yellow, so i sped up in 4th gear w/o downshifting....and it turned red about 1 second before i crossed the line...well this is usually where the story stops...that is unless....a sheriff was in the left turn lane beside you and saw it happen...
well anyway, i continued along doing the speed limit, i look back and the cruiser turns outta the turn lane and starts following, then about a 1/2 mile down the road i get the lights...(as expected) so i pull over into a CVS parking lot, the officer gets out and comes up and asks for my licence and registration, i give my dl and registration to him...he says "i figure you know why i pulled you over" i said yeah, i couldn't really stop for that light in time at my speed. then he said, yeah, i know what ya mean, we all been there, even myself...then he said, it looks like you got some work done to it, the dohc vtec swap, in that, i bet it moves...im like yeahh.
so then he goes to check my registration and comes back, he starts to ask some questions about it. He knew it wasn't a '93 integra like i have it registered as.
then he wanted to see the VIN on the dash!!!! which was actually on my desk in my room. lol. he's looking on the dash, doesn't find it....i open both doors, he's looking on the door jambs, but just sees stickers written in japanese...i pop the hood and point out the firewall JDM VIN, and the one on the radiator support....i can tell he thinking, WTF! especially when he looked at this one>>>
then i closed the hood. and he says, "aren't those seats outta the mitsubishi Evo" i said yeah, recaro, there just a different color. he says "nice seats!"
i forgot what else was said (nothing much else really), and im not gonna go into full detail what i said about the car. the point of this story is he just basically wanted to see a VIN to make sure it wasn't a stolen car...if you just read this, you should now have an idea how to register a RHD and what police look for.
he ended up just giving me a warning ticket for failure to yield for the traffic light...
It was a pretty interesting night i do have to say....that sheriff knew a thing or two about Honda's and liked my car alot apparently.
to police that are cool, and not ********.

i don't like the 4 x 4 look either, i hate it in fact....i was planning on getting tein coilovers in a few weeks, but i think i will just order some h&r race springs to throw on there for a little while.

This thread goes to show everyone though, not ALL cops are ********. Im sick of hearing this, and like I always say EVERY proffesion has dicks etc.
Its funny, but noone is ever like "I saw my doctor today and he gave me a bill for my operation and it was too much$$$"
Its always this dick cop gave me a ticket because i ran a stop sign WTF. Hehe of course he did, you just ran a stop sign.

Heh, been there before.... driving a RHD car and getting pulled over just so they can "examine" it to make sure it was legit to be on the road. Not really that big of a deal but can be a hassle if it's a constant occurance. I've even had cops driving the other way see me, make a U-turn and come after me just to check out the car (legality of it). Otherwise, never gotten a ticket for it being "unsafe" or "modified" for the road. I'm just glad I now drive a 'Honda' that I really don't have to worry about getting hassled by the cops in worry about it getting stolen as it's rare (knock on wood )
