Default glass blasting???? material left over??

well i dropped my valvecover by the machine shop and they are gonna blast it for me, they said GLASS BLASTING, and to be extremely carefull about material left over in the baffle of the valvecover.

is this any different from sandblasting???

ive sandblasted it before and had no probs, but they didnt even really wanna do it because of the top baffle, they said i might not be able to get all the material out once they were done??

are they being a little over cautious, i plan on running it in my dishwasher just to be safe and hit it with the iar chuck for a while

i would use some brake cleaner to clean any oil residue that will be holding blasting media in the baffles. Rinse it out with a hose and blow it all out untill you feel comfortable., Anything you leave in there will come out later.

The differnce is that they use glass beads instead of sand. Like said before, make sure that you get all the oil residue out. It will make it much easier to get the glass beads out when you are done.
