Piece it together or buy it one piece?
Well i have finally decided on the engine i want to get, the d16z6 with a d16y8 tranny. But i am wondering if i were to buy just a block, and then a crankshaft from a different engine that could have been driven differently or soforth, would it fit properly? Or should i just buy a block with a crankshaft or will it even matter?
also pretty much the same thing with the head, if i buy them seperatly do i have to worry about one not fitting entirely right with the other or no? thanks for any help

well it would depend on what you want to do with the motor. as far as the trannys you can get a z6 on with a y8 shift fork. If you peice it together then you might as well build it up. If you just want somthing mild, just get a short block, and build a nice head with a cam, and throw some bolt ons and you will be good to go.
well in the future i am looking at a lot of horsepower, but i just don't have a big wad of money to throw down. I want to go turbo maybe 250+whp. I just don't want to spend 800 bucks in one lump some on an engine, i would rather spend 300 for the block and 300 for the head and 300 for the tranny or something like that
i am just worried about **** not fitting properly.
