Default what kind of insurance does an impound lot have?

hey my car was impounded and i owe alot to get it out so it may be in there for a while. now what if some punk came and stole my deck from the lot? i didnt have any auto insurance thats why its in there. do u think the impound lot would cover it? what if someone vandalized my car or set it on fire for example? im kinda worried cause the impound lot is in a shitty *** town.

tow yards do have insurance, i believe it is the same as car dealerships, and shops. But if your car were to be damaged it would be pretty hard to get them to pay for anything, most tow yards are pretty secure, with video cams, and dogs. Just get insurance on the car, and get it out asap. that way the tow bill is more then the value of the car.

ok bottle fed u answered my question... yeah im stuck in a bad situation. i wrecked my car the other day a little so its not worth much. i have to pay 85 to start and 20 a day for it to be in there. before i can get it out i have to insure it (mine is 200a month plpd) and register it. and im unemployed and finding a job is rough without some wheels. i guess im gonna have to rough this one out. thanks guys. i might land myself in prison doing something stupid like that once i thought more about it.
