why does my clock reset to 1:00???
whats up? im in need of help..... i had bare wires exposed(i know real dumb) from my radio(because it was stolen) well 2 wires touched there was a spark and now i have problems, the clock resets to 1:00... well my 1st idea was to check the fuse (well it wasnt blown) does any one else have any ideas??? thanks for any help also i just went and checked out all the fuses in the engine bay(they were fine also)
When does it reset? Every time you shut off the car? Or just at random times? You probably just need to rewire your red wire (I assume after-market radio) to a constant-on power source. If it's wired to an ignition-only power source, then your radio will lose it's brains every time you shut the car off.
the clock resets every time the car is shut off, and there was an after market cd player(but i plan on throwin in a stock radio now) also the dome light doesnt come on...and when i turn the dome switch to on the clock goes black, how would i rewire the red wire??? thanks for the help
crx is right...you need to hook the + terminal of your clock to a constant power source so that if you shut off the car the clock will continue rollin
likewise with an aftermarket cd player...one + wire is for the accessory/ignition and the other one is + battery constant to preserve your stereo settings

thanks for the help guys, but it looks like i have a bigger problem than just the clock.....if i push in the lighter the clock goes black(same thing if i turn the dome switch on) dome doesnt work either. i think this might be part of my problem: i used a test(er) light i hooked up to a ground and when i put the other end to the red wire(from the radio section) nothin happens (with the ignition on) but when i touch the yellow wire (my test light still doesnt light up, and i did test the light) the clock goes black and my hatch light(on cluster) lights up???? by the way the original spark came from the red and yellow wire touching
yay I can help some one cuz i aculy know some thing i had the same prob
Now this may sound dumb I thought it did to but my buddy from honda helped me with my clock
All right in the engine bay theres a fuse box by the batary check the back up sensor fuse thats what was wrong with mine
I had the same prob with the clock
And i also blew this fuse when i was puting in an after market radio

that is why it's always a good idea to remove the battery + terminal when installing aftermarket stereo to be safe.
it's kinda risky chopping off the wires while it is hooked up with the bat

thanks for the idea maxnemo but that fuse is fine, but i have more problems: the dome light doesnt work(and when i turn the switch on, the clock goes black and the trunk/hatch light comes on and the same thing happens when i push in the lighter, also i now have no door "chime" and my girl just told me that last nite when she was driving home the 2 wires that run in the top of the ashtray were GLOWING but i looked at them today they looked ok....... can someone help i dont know what to do????
I have no clue... but are you sure the wires behind the radio are correct? You didn't tag a power wire into the dimmer or illumiations wires?
It sounds like you have some serious electrical problems. I would say take it to a shop and have them check it out. If you know a GOOD car audio shop in your area they should be able to help you out. Or you can take it to a mechanic and they can tell you before-hand if they can take the job. I say this because this is something that is impossible to troubleshoot on a message board. You need someone who knows what they're doing and has test equipment in hand.
