ES100s + Type R + Snow = pooooop!
from a stop it took nearly 1/4 to finally get traction, and the car randomly glides around at low speeds...which is totally awesome when driving 30 miles to work. coming home should be even better w00t!
so am I gonna burn out my diff or anything w/ all this spinning?

if you were tapping rev limitter for a 1/4 mile, tossing rooster tails everywhere... the diff might be a bit angry... but not burnt up.
i just hope it clears up before Friday.. I sure would hate to get caught in Nova (or on the way up/down).

i make out ok w/o tires... it the non-driving idiots out there that clog the roads and can't use their suv correctly that **** me off.

As long as it doesn't snow more than a few inches, my generic tires will get me around fine. However, snow tires will probably be purchased soon because expecting under a few inches for the rest of the season is totally unrealistic in upstate NY.

Yeah, but anything other than a snow tire isn't going to be tolerable in the snow.

Yeah think about driving a 2000lb civic with ES100's on solid ice roads. My car needs a new passenger fender, bumper, headlight, and corner light thanks to ice.
but it was my own fault. All i had to do was switch on my all season tires but I got lazy and figured the ice would melt in a day or so.
it didn't.

i have es100's on my prelude.. was fun when it snowed here a little last saturday night.. made for a long ride home from the city though..
I have ES100's on my car and they worked great in the ice storm portland oregon saw last weekend. I have some fun drifting on the highways, but they handled well as long as you realize your driving on ice and drive slow.
Just bought some yokahoma wintergaurds. put them on crv wheels. Completely happy with them. Only 386 otd from Discount tire. I went to the local honda dealer and talked to a buddy in parts. He got me the take off wheels for 20 bucks! It's a lot better than attempthing everything on Kuhmo mx's!

The Tire Rack has five different winter tires in the stock size for $68 to $86 per tire, and they'll sell a set of steel wheels for $168 and the mounting/balancing is included. So you can get the whole package for as little as $440 plus shipping. That's a much better deal than trying to get by on your summer tires, sliding into something, and paying the deductible on your insurance and waiting a few weeks for your bodywork to get fixed...
