ZC or D16 into '91 Civic Si
Hey, I was wondering if anybody could point me in the direction of some good sites that provide information for swapping either a ZC motor or D16Z6 into my '91 Civic Si. Also, I believe a ZC swap is easier, but any feedback would be great. Thanks in advance.
Hey, thanks for the direction. Does anyone know whether or not the Si ECU will accept the wiring for the Cam angle sensor. It is on (I think) all DOHC engines, on the second cam, usually the exhaust side. If that is the only wire I will have to add, I'm going for the ZC with turbo. Any suggestions?
Yes, the SI ECU will work on a DOHC ZC.
That swap can be pretty quick but make sure you get a good set of mounts or you will be in wheel hop hell.

ZC all the way
the ZC cam sensor is on the end if the exhaust cam where as the Si one is in the dizzy
you need to cut the blue/green and blue/yellow wires from the Si dizzy and solder them to the cam sensor on the ZC

Thanks. Am I also to understand that that is the only extra wiring I will have to play with? Does everything else hook right up? I have a problem believing it to be that easy. It would be great if it is.

Well, I swapped a ZC into a '93 Civic DX, and it was a nightmare. It uses the same mounts, among other things, but the wiring was terrible. So, all I have to do is splice the two wires that went into the old Distributor, and wire them to the Cam Angle Sensor, right? Evrything else plugs right in?
