i just bought a jdm ys1 tranny and the previous owner said that 3rd grinds at high rpms. I was talkin to a friend about checking out the tranny and seeing if i need to replace the syncro or not and according to him, the syncros in the jdm ys1 are different then the syncros in the usdm gsr ys1... the way i figure it, they should both be the same... doesnt make sense for honda to make the same tranny with 2 different syncros... Can anyone shed some more light on this for me please

Strange isnt it.. Yes, Honda did make (2) YS1 trannies with different sized syncros in it.. My YS1 is out of a jdm intergra xsi and the 1-4 syncros are bigger than the 5th one..

Call up gear-speed and they will help you out.. I got a 3-4-5 syncro set from them for $100 and they have unbelievable customer service and support..
