Help picking out a certain sized spring
Hello-
I need a somewhat specific spring for a project of mine. I looked through McMaster's massssive amounts of springs, ony to be vastly overwhelmed by their sheer numbers.
I ordered a few springs, but it seems like as the OD of the spring increases, so does the wire diameter and thus its overall force or spring rate.
I need a spring that has anywhere from 4 to 6 inhces between its compressed length and overall length. I need a relatively low force of the spring (im combining 3 to 6 of them, and the force of all of them needs to be around 12 to 15 lbs). Lastly, I need a spring that has a minimum ID of 5/8 ".
Can you offer any advice in my searches?
Cliff notes- Need spring. Low force (~1-5 lb/in). > 5/8" ID. 10-12 overall length. 4-6 inches of 'travel' between compressed and overall length.
thanks!
