Auto Transmission start problem
2000 civic vp 52k
This is my 4th problem with this car....please assist.
My brakes went at 11k miles.
My oxysensor went at 28k
My driver window mechanism went at 45k
Now my Tranny gives me problems...please help...I can't take it anymore...
Symptoms:
During very cold weather, below 20, only when first start of the day, car bucks when putting into drive. While in drive car acts like in neutral for about 20 seconds and then catches drive gear and moves. Car drives fine after that. Any suggestions? (I changed the ATF myself at 30k miles using genuine Honda fluid.)Seems like car bucks worse when parked up slight incline.
Is this a fluid thing or am I screwed?)
Help my Honda is causing irreversible phycological damage.

No, I don't think it's ruined. It sounds like the fluid you used is not the correct one for colder temperatures. Make sure it's the right one for winter temperatures.
I didn't even know that there are different season transmission fluids by Honda?
WOuld just letting it heat up more solve this? Could it be that simple? I was going to drain the pan again cause the parts guy at the dealership told me Honda changed their fluid.

Yes let the fluid warm up, if your -20 and start teh car then only wait 10 sec then drive off , the fluid is too thick and is slipping the gears hence why your feeling the neutral condtion.
