Guys,
Today, I got an oil change and the the mechanic recommended the struts to be changed because the car has hit 100k miles.

I would like to know the following :

- at 100k miles do i need they replaced ?
- What are the symptoms of a bad struts ?
- can i do it myself, how difficult it is ? Is there a how to link on this site ?

What is the struts thing, and how different it is from a shock absorber ?
