HELP, I THINK MY IGNITION IS JAMMED!!
well i went to start my car and the key wouldnt turn, it was like when the steering wheel is locked, but the steering wheel wasnt locked. Now it is though. I took off all the plastic cover around the ignition and tried to it off but theres one screw i cant get off, a really small one underneat. by the way its a 91 civic, any suggestions?
You have to remove the small screw from under the ignition lock device, then put the key to the #1 position, and there is a small little pin on top of the ignition lock that you have to push down on. Then the ignition lock cylinder should slide right out. Then go to honda and buy a new lock cylinder for 60 bucks and you're set. good luck.

the ignition lock device is the piece that goes around the part where the keys goes in right? if so i just removed the screw but the key still doesnt turn at all. and i couldnt find the pin that needs to be pushed down.

well i got that small screw out but the key still doesnt move, the steering wheel is still locked, and i cant find that small pin on top. I DID see a small hole with what seemed to be a pin indented in it and pushed that down but it didnt do nothing.

well think of it this way, if it is the relase and its the only thing matching the description that has been given to you and he is saying you need to press it in to release the ignition lock cylinder then go for it. if it is the only thing that resembles the releas then what are you goig to hurt? thats what its there for.

im gonna look at it tomm, since right now its like 0 degrees out
if it is the cylinder that is bad, will my steering wheel unlock once the cylinder is removed? also, does anyone know how to hot wire it.

If you aren't able to turn the key, you may either have to take it to a locksmith, or else buy a whole new ignition switch. You have to put the key to the 1 position in order to be able to depress the little pin thats on top of the switch.
I just went through replacing my lock cylinder, i accidentally put the wrong key in the ignition, and was able to start the car, but I couldnt remove the key fron the ignition. Then after I removed the lock cylinder, I broke it somehow. So I had to use a screwdriver to start my car for a few days. Honda charges 53$ + tax for a new cylinder with keys.
Anyways, good luck.

ok, well if i really mess around with the steering wheel and try to turn the key i can get the wheel unlocked but then it only turns one direction, if i turn it the other direction then it locks again. could this problem actually have something to do with the steering wheel and not the ignition lock?

Yes, keep wiggling the key, while trying to turn it at the same time. It happened to me once. Messed with it for about 10 minutes, and it just kinda started working properly again. I think this happens when you try to take the key out of the ignition before the ignition releases the key.

i donno man, i wiggled and jiggled it pretty good. i think it might actually be something with the steering wheel lock. now, if i jiggle it alot, the steering wheel actually frees up put only turns left the it locks again. it wont go right. i cant get the whole locking device off. the part that goes around the steering shaft is held together by to these two rivet looking things. i donno how to get them off. the screws look like they have threads but the other end is just looks like a nail head

That might not do anything. If the key you are going to have made is going to be done at a normal key cutting place they just use the key you provide as a template. If that key is worn then you might have the same problem with it as you did with the old one.
Also for some reason about 1/2 of the Honda dealerships are lasy bastards and dont like to cut keys before 92. Dont ask me why but I had to drive 45min to a dealership out of town to get my key cut by Honda.
