Default Need pics of moddified stock bumpers (4th gen) for intercooler clearence

I'm going turbo soon and plan to boost at around 15-18 psi and the inter cooler will be fairly large. My main concern is getting enough air flow to it to keep the charge temps down. I'll be using the stock bumper and possibly a fludine half radiator for clearence issues. I was thinking about cutting out the center "bar" of the lower portion of the grill. kinda like this but I don't want to weaken the bumper too much, any advice?

depending on the intercooler specs, you may have to do extensive modifications to the bumper support and anything else in the way. the intercooler will get adiquate air cooling just by being the first in line to get air before the radiator and a/c condensor. i think cuting the front bar out totally ruins the way the prelude front looks, i love the stock look of the prelude so perhaps i am not the best person to give an opinion,

but you intercooler would get plently of air flow, cutting the bar out is mainly for the BLING effect to show off your intercooler, .. hell i say go air/water

You mean your IC is not mounted to anything & just being held up by the charge pipes? I'm thinkin FMIC core... are you talking about bumper core? My brain isn't functioning right now.

Beautiful smile. I'm thinking about cutting out the cross bar intercooler or not. i love the open airdam look that the mid 90s accords had

Btw, what's a 'core support'? the cross bar?

Thanks guys, the intercooler is NOT just held up by the pipes, it's bolted up to the front frame right in the middle where the PS cooler used to be.

just look around on this site.

i hope the guy doesn't mind.
the blue prelude has the bar in the middle cut out and he did some molding to get the curves in the middle and he has the wings west racing series front lip molded onto the front bumper. it looks pretty cool.

*edit* try this link too.

it takes you straight to the process i guess.

See this has been kicking my ***. It's always the little simple **** that boggles my mind.

Where did you move your PS cooler?

And, is that a drag 3 FMIC?

Very sexy setup.

My PS cooler is lying right on top of my intercooler, and bolted up at the same location the intercooler is at, in the center beam.

It is a spearco intercooler that used to come with fmax kits I believe.

Ah, so I'm assuming you went the same route as many others: Trimming out a section from the bottom of the bumper beam and having the top of the IC mounted inside?
