1/2 Rad Install. Crx overflow? Stock wiring? Slim fan.....??? QUESITONS!!
I want to install me eg 1/2 rad before the install in 2 months. I was looking at some EG 1/2 rads from streetimports, dual core, aluminum.
But thats all it comes with, the rad.
Like can I just relocate my 88Crx overflow tank to make it work with the EG one?
FAN: Can I make the stock Crx fan fit onto the 1/2 rad or should I be switching to something else
Im going to have a ramhorn style mani, external gate, 3" downpipe passenger side so will OEM fan fit?
Wiring:If I use the stock fan then yeah wiring is the same but if I have to buy another slim one or one for an EG will it just plug in?
Does anyone have any guides or pics of there eg 1/2 rads installed?
I dont see why it wont be easy if I just make a bracket and bang it around for mounting but does any cutting have to be done?
Thanks guys

Just another thing to think about. They do make half size radiators for the crx now too. I believe PWR, C&R, Fluidyne, make half size radiators for the crx now.
I used an EG Fluidyne radiator for my CRX. I got it before anything else was available. I used a Fal slim fan for an EG and cut off my old fan plug and soldered it to the FAL. Haven't had a problem yet.
For the coolant overflow bottle, I just bought some new hose in bulk and ran it across under the radiator support to the stock overflow.

you will need a slim fan, i think the stock shroud sticks out like 2 inches,
in fact i had to get a pusher fan, i was limited on room, get a slim fan, and you can cut the plug off your oem fan and use it to wire up your aftermarket fan.
as far as the radiator goes, if you are going to buy a new radiator, get the c&r shorty for the crx its the only radiator as of yet that fits in the crx without some retarded *** mounting, fullrace is also developing a crx radiator, pm them to find out when it will be available.
for the overflow tank just get a long hose and run it over to the tank so it will mount in the original location, however, if your intercooler piping is going to be in that area you will have to find a diffrent way to do it, what are you doing about the battery?
i will post a picture of my setup tommorow for you,

CRX specific radiators are looking to be expensive as hell
I can get a EG 1/2 rad aluminum for less than half the price
Dont mind a little ghetto bracket moutings lol, dont see why not

why bother if you are still N/A? IMO you only need a half sized radiator if you are turboed. cause if you have the room, a full sized will always cool better then half sized.

I drilled out the stock lower radiator mounts and re-welded then in the lowest position possible on the lower support. I did have to cut some of the webbing on my CF hood so the radiator cap wouldn't rub. I heard some people have angled the radiator back to solve the top rubbing problem.

not that hard. did all the RESEARCH first, then bought the parts and did the swap myself.

damn no need to be hostile...
But anyways back to the topic. When i installed the 1/2 rad on my rex using the stock x-member i didn't ghetto fab up any mounts, i just jammed it in there. And zip tied it so it wouldn't move, And still had to cut out some of the hood underskeleton, and it still hit a lil. also just got the overflow tank floating around in the engine bay

I would make some mounts i dont like things "floating around" and ziptied
