Wierd noise after ITR tranny and flywheel install....help
I just had an ITR tranny and clutchmaster flywheel installed and ever since I've had this wierd noise coming from the right side of the car. It happens over 3000rpms and it's really annoying. It's like a wheezing/buzzing sound that gets louder as I accelerate. What could it be? Is it the flywheel? I checked my CAI and it's on properly. Anyone else experiencing this problem?
is it in every gear? have you tried it in neutral? are you pretty sure its coming from the tranny? my friend had the same thing happen to his tranny after a rebuild. in 1st and 2nd gear, it would sound like reverse. is this what is happening to you?
I know the sound you're talking about but it's different. It's like a fluttering/buzzing noise. The tranny is brand new. It happens in every gear above 3000rpm's. Could it have something to do with the flywheel? It's definitely coming from that area of the car.
could be any loose bolt like clutch or the throw-out bearing just wait the problem out then figure out what it is and decide what you have to do. I think it might be the throw out bearing. or could be a chattery clutch

I would guess the "shop" or individual who installed your clutch didn't use a clutch alignment tool. A lot more people than you think neglect this step in a clutch/flywheel install.
i have the same whining noise in my b16 tranny. gets louder as i accelerate. i was told that it might be the differentials, but i am not sure.

Weird you mention this now...I was Just discussing this prob with my service manager about ITR tannys. There is a ring on the mainshaft that has little ear on it that sitcks out and lines up in a little cut out space in the end of the tranny casting right by the two brass plugs on the passanger side...it is wierd and I don't know why, but at hgh rpm it kind rattles around inside the cut out in the case. We called Honda's Tech line about it and they said it is normal...No BS! Hey I got a brand new ITR tranny out of that warranty issue. And 9d9GSR..sounds like your bearings are going out on ya. (By the way I'm using my G/F account.)
i hear a whining noise in 1st and 2nd(because car is quietest then) when i am slowing down and i put the car in gear(even if the clutch is in). not sure if it was there before the action clutch/itr flywheel install but its there now. not loud, but there.
I had a problem after installing my clutch which sounds the same as yours. I had a feeling it was the VSS sensor but no one knew what to do about it and it eventually got quieter and disappeared.
Hopefully yours will too
Hopefully yours will too
sounds like the throw-out bearings. my gsr had the same problem. kind of a whirling noise right? when you clutch in does it stop?
Nope...when i clutch in it sounds like it's winding down. I'm getting an axle seal leak fixed today so hopefully they'll top up the fluid...maybe it was because it was low on fluid? who knows...
