Default sohc swaps

I am swapping my CX motor for an EX motor in my 92 hatch, i keep overhearing that they dont swap right over. Doesnt an EX motor bolt right in, i know to get the computer but what else might i need to make this a quick and easy job?

it is a direct swap. a wiring harness from an ex or si would be a big help. are u changing just the motor or doing the entire swap including the trans? i would get everyting from the ex: trans, ecu, harness, intake manifold, etc...

actually...the 92's have the wiring for vtec in there already so your harness should be good to go

the motor swaps right over, all you need is the ecu. (p28) you dont need to change the harness.

the internal harness (dash, ecu) already has the vtec wiring in 92s only, the external (engine bay) doesn't.

so you need to plug in the engine bay harness from a 92-95 Si/EX and just plug in the P28. no custom wiring needed.

man it works just fine!! i put a ex/si motor in my vx hatchback. to make things a little easier get a 92-95 ex/si motor.. im not sure about the newer style ex motor d16y8.. you can use your vx ecu but it would suck! if you get the motor get the ecu, and tranny. you can use your stock tranny but the gear ratios are different.. later

yeah you will be ok with the same year ex motor and ecu.. try to get the tranny too because it will run better with a ex/si tranny then a cx tranny.. the cx tranny the gears are long!!
