i'm sure if a cop pulled you over and told them you had to pick up a new hood, and you had no other car he wouldnt mind, but thats just a guess

I'll let you know on friday when I go pickup my hood... I plan to do it when it gets dark out... Aside from the highway... I'll avoid any main streets... If I were driving and I saw a car with no hood.. I'd be like WTF, and look to see if i can see any moving parts

I live in Orlando, and I've had to do that a few times. Once to pick up carbon fiber hood, once to pick up a stock hood.

It was great, heard the turbo spool up loud as hell, BOV was sick too!!!!

I had to drive far, like half an hour.

No on will really bother you, soo many Piece of **** cars around in flordida who cares!!!

do it when it gets dark and should be fine

if you have an intake make sure its tight so it don't fly off down the highway

yep. even if you do get pulled over if you are honest with cops they dont usually mess with you. tell him you are going to get a new one and that there was no way for you to get the oem one back to your place. tell him you live really close too. its not like you are driving drunk or recalled firestones, you should be alright on side streets.

I thought they were considered cosmetic panels like fenders? I know in NC you can drive around without fenders all day long.

now you can be like "Hector". I think th e hood is actually part of the car's crash absorbtion scheme.

Haha, yup. I lived in Spring Hill for a while, and I had to drive my Camaro for about a week with no hood, but never got pulled over. However, I did have a cop say something in a gas station. It is against the law, but as MrBui said, be honest with the cop, and they are usually cool about it... although, no guarantees.

It crumples, no doubt, but the hood gives the car little to no structural rigidity.

Right. The only reason it crumples is so it doesn't go through the windshield and take off your head.

The hood protects pedestrians from slamming into your engine
