Alright lately whenever I start up my car my powersteering pump whiirrs and chatters like a biznatch. Whenever I start it up from a dead cold it chatters and makes a whining and grating noise really bad. When I move the wheel I get a feed back then after i go down the road it stops. (wheel only gives feedback while turning) and it goes away after I go down the road. But the car still whines. When I go down the road it sounds like i have a cheap turbo spooling up. The noise increases as I go turn my steering wheel. Especially at low speeds.

So i am wanting to get a new pump because I am pretty sure this is my problem. I have changed the fluid but that barely helped. Are all D series PS pumps interchangeable? I have a 93 EX. If I get a pump off of a 98 EX at a junkyard would it still work?

if you do ex to ex then they are interchangable. but for example a hx one will not work. if you need on i have a 95 ex one for sale. just amke an offer. it also has a AEM power pulley on it.

 

can anyone help me confirm that my pump is my problem??
