help ive got a leak...
my car is filling up with water! its only when it rains. an it gathers on the drivers side front an back in 1/2 inch pools. doesnt look like its comming in from the door. any ideas on where its commin from??
the leak could be coming in through the undercarriage, ive seen cars that over the years, after so much dirt and grime had collected under the car that it eventually ate a hole in the underside of the car and flooded them when it rained.
what i would suggest is take a cup of sand, and pour it near or above where you think the water comes in from, so you might be able to get an idea of what part you need to patch...i say use sand, its not as easy to use as a liquid, but its easier to clean up (vacuum)
what kinda of car is it?

its a 92 cavilier... leak from the bottom?? nah i think its much higher... first i thought it might be the windshield or sumthin around the firewall. but i noticed when the car was parked on a hill with the back of the car low side. the puddle gathered on the rear floor, drivers side. the front was dry. so i parked it in the opposite direction. this time the front was wet an the back was dry. it seems like its comming down from the middle or higher an trickling down to gather in the floor. but im affraid its internal. i dont see any kind of water run marks, rust, of any sign of a seal being loose or cracked along the drivers side of the car an what i could see in the doors. the carpet is always dry anywhere thats 1-2" above "sea-level", even up by the firewall. does anyone think rippin up the carpet will help me pinpoint the problem. anyone got any ideas on troubleshooting this??
