A buddy got his car pulled over, has the ihe setup, and nos. So they sent him to the ref. i am in california and they really give it to you in the *** compared to other states regarding emmisions. Does anyone know a way around going to the smog ref and clearing the ticket?

I know if you put the car on non-op you just need to pay the fine and thats it, but when you re-register the car after the non-op waht would you need to do? thanx for any feedback

 

Does 'your buddy' have all the stock parts still? If he does, just through those back on go to the ref and then when he passes put it all back on.

 

well I forgot to mention he has internal work done, so swapping the motor would be the only option as far as doing physical work

 

if he has internal work then why worry, unless when they run it on the SMOG machine it will fail.

Honestly your friend should of thought about this when he did the mods.

 

a way to avoid the ref: put the car in some one else's name untill the legal probs are over, then put it back in your name. they cant make you ref a car that you dont own

 

Just pay the bail, when he gets his notice, and he doesn't have to go.

or put everything back to stock

 

If he only has IHE and internal work and not an engine swap it should be no problem at the ref if the IHE has carb numbers, otherwise just swap out the intake and headers and take out the nos. Should be a walk in the park.

thats your best option, pay the fine.
