Many are afraid of the RB26 -- Link inside
Hey everyone, I like to browse the threads every so often and I came upon this thread in supraforums... http://www.supraforums.com/for...53592 i was shocked!!
Whats the deal with Nopi singling out the Skyline motors, this had to have been directed toward the guys at Xtreme Motorwerks and their bad a$$ 350Z with the RB26. Is it because they want the 2JZ's to dominate or are they in bed with someone? It looks like they want a smaller displacment motor to weigh alot more then the larger 3.0 and having these car weigh in at over 3000lbs mean that they are illegal. This is TOTAL BULL $HIT!!

Check out the new rules in Pro Outlaw RWD...in NOPI.
http://ndra.nopi.com/ndra_2k4/rulebook.cfm
1.15 - Pro Outlaw RWD
New rules state
2.5 L = 2000 lbs
2.6 L = 2800 lbs (one power adder)
3.0 L = 3000lbs (two power adders/gasoline)
All 2.6 liter and larger motors allowed 2 power adders on gasoline with a 200 lb weight penalty.
Twin turbo 200 lb weight penalty
Funny that 800 lb weight difference between a 2.5 liter and a 2.6 liter.
I guess no one told whoever wrote the book that the RB26 is actually 2568 cc.

No one has singled out the RB26, and yes, I knew it was smaller than 2600cc.
The way the rules read,
2.6L and larger are 2800+
2.5L and smaller are based on .80lbs per cc.
.80 x 2568cc = 2054.4lbs is what a car with a RB26 must weigh for the minimum in the class
We don't want anyone to dominate any class, this is why the rulebooks for every group can be changed up until July 1 for everybody.

There is a power street class, and a turo 6 class. There are no min weights in the sportsman classes, but they can't be cut up or lightened.
Powerstreet is for 1 power adder 4 cyls., and n/a 6 cyl cars.
Turbo 6 is for turbocharged 6 cylinder motors.
