Help with trouble codes - CEL is on again
Hi there,
We are having problems with my wife's 98 Honda Civic, 96k, 4 cyl, A/T. What is happening is that the check engine has come on and it will sometimes stall out. This first happened on Saturday, but I didn't think much of it because it is freezing cold here (northern MN) -20 F. I figured something was froze up and it did seem to run better after warming up. I have a scan tool and it had trouble code
P1106 Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Problem and pending code (I don't know how this is different that a regular trouble code)
P1706 Open in Transmission Range Switch Circuit. I turned off the CEL with my scan tool and all was well yesterday - It ran fine. This morning the light came back on and it stalled out one time. It is -25 F this morning, so my cold theory might still hold up. I have not had a chance to scan it again for codes, but will do it tonight. Any ideas here? Where is the Barometric Pressure (BARO) Sensor on this car?
Thanks,
Mark
