Default Ultimate tire Width for Accord?

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by JimBlake &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">About the wider rims and handling, thats not excatly true, the only reason they handle better is because of some treadings of tires, but if yur tires are wider your actually seperatiing yur weight of yur car to a more displaced area which causes yur car to seem lighter because of more space displacement causing a LOST of traction, NOT gain, its pure basic physical science-</TD></TR></TABLE>

This always confused me, because this is what I learnt in High School Physics. I was wondering if my teacher was crazy when he was telling me that the tinner the bicycle tire is, the more traction it has. Does it mean that it has more traction per square inch or does it have more total traction? So, with that said, what tire width would yield the best traction with all other things being equal (tread design, material etc).

Wider is better (generally speaking). The thin tires are on there from the factory to up the mileage ratings.
