What to do with Bogart wheels and GSR brakes?
I have a set of Bogart 13x8 Drag on fly stars that were originally for a Civic that I need to fit onto a Civic with a GSR brake upgrade. I know Bogart makes spacers to add to the wheel, but I would rather not use them. I have heard about a few people here grinding the brake caliper a little bit to fit them. How much of the caliper needs to be grinded and is it harmless...keep in mind this is a street/drag car?
I tested fitted them that night and this seems to be the area that is hitting the rim

Thanks,
John

I would not grind down your calipers as you might go too deep and hurt the brake piston.
Use the Bogart spacer, it bolts right on to the back of the Bogarts with no problem.
I ran them before on my Si with no problems

well considering that he has the part of the caliper circled i dont think hes goin to damage the piston when its clear on the other side of the caliper. in fact the piston is only bolted to that piece its not really a true piece of the part he circled.

Grinding that part down isnt gonna help when the physical part of the caliper is what's hitting. Even if he does grind it down, the part of the caliper next to it is the same height as what he has circled so it will still hit.
And plus grinding that part down he has circle will make it thinner than it is and might not even hold the brake pad in place.

That isnt a pic of my car...I borrowed it from another post. I already have ARP wheel studs installed. I guess I will go with the Bogart spacers.

Ok I am having some issues....I called Bogart and they are telling me that my wheels for my Civic are a different offset than the Integra wheels and that when I add the spacers they will stick out excessively. I know they will stick out, but is there a actual difference between the two rims like Bogart is saying or is it just the spacer?

That doesn't make any sense. I know someone running the same setup without any issues.

I have run 13" bogarts on my 95 civic w/ gsr brakes. (pic in my sig)
All I had to do is grind down the part circled in the pic and it worked fine.
There is no need to grind at the caliper itself at all.
