Coolant smell

Coolant smell

Ok first off I'm not that mechanically inclined but feel free to flame away.

I just bought this 1990 Accord Ex with 216k miles. Driving it home, once the car warmed up I noticed a distinct coolant smell. Now I'm thinking,

heater core fubar'ed
coolant leak somewhere?
dieing water pump?

Any other obvious things I should check out?

Also the car doesn't over heat.
