high rpm acceleration= very loud and scary movement
first off, the car is a 95 4 door gsr... but anyway when i shift hard with high rpms (5k-redline) the car vibrates ALOT and the front and moves Alot. Kind of like a "boom-boom-boom" My only guess is one of the mounts is bad, but what else could it be?? I really dont hope this will cost a lot, just bought the car last month.
the car has been like this since i got it, so im almost positive that i didnt crack the mounts..but were already cracked. So how many are there to replace and how can i check to see which one is the culprit?
edit: forgot to add that it only does this as soon as i shift to the next gear, not while it is accelerating. So could it be anything tranny/differential related?

Probably isn't tranny related. Sounds very much like motor mounts. If you have to change the rear one, good luck. It's a pain in the ***. The others aren't that bad. As far as how many, my DA has 4. I think the DC's have 5? Just look for things bolted to the engine and the body that resemble a mount
and check to see if any of the bolts are snapped or missing or the mount itself is cracked.
I really don't know what's holiding my engine in, I replaced the front torque mount because it was easy to get to, then I noticed the tranny mount bolts are sheared off and the rear motor mount has no bolts in it. Makes me wonder what kind of hell my car was put through before I bought it.

if it vibrates only under load (you stepping on the accelerator) especially at higher speeds and higher gears. I'll guess you have a busted axle. Thats what happened to me and took me a while to figure out. Most people will either say motor mounts or the axles. I checked both and it was the driver side axle for me.
ok, mabye i explained it inaccuratly...
the loud vibration is only during the point after i shift into any gear at high rpms, i guess when the clutch has caught. I will check the motor mounts when i get a chance this weekend though.

you can see the mount its open to the atmosphere so it takes a beating.
