How do you know you've blow yer motor ?
I have some probs here and there, but as far as a turbo motor (or otherwise) what are the typical signs of the motor being blown ?
low or no compression, a lot of smoking, irratic idle speeds, poor performance, raddling noises, and/or car does not start at all
Bone,
You must post that picture of the block 10 times a day. It is hilarious but you gotta get a new one.
As for the original question:
A rpm based knocking sound, excessive oil burning, low/no compression on a cylinder. Any abnormal clunks are all signs of the motor being shot.

Metalic fragments in the oil are a sign of rings headed out the door..
