Default i think there is something up with my throttle body plate...can any 1 help?

okay first off my car never had this problem with the plate for the air go into the intake manifold...anyhow it started to acting up about 2 weeks ago and the problem went like this, everytime i stop at the red light and the lights turn green my gas pedal get stuck and i had to force the pedal the get the plate unstuck. so at first i thought it was my gas cable was siezeing up so i lube it up good and after that it stills have the same problem....and i know it something with the plate inside of the throttle body so what should i do ? is that plate adjustable to where it wont slide or make the plate stuck?

with all your help
thanks
Ron

maybe is you tighten your cable a little more, then the plate wont be able to go so far.

With the intake off,
Look inside of it while someone holds the throttle open,
If you see lots of black stuff,
You might want to try some B-12 carb-cleaner
and a nylon bristle brush aka a bottle brush to clean it out..

How far are you from Va Beach? I have an extra throttle battle here if you want to try and change the plate.

Look under the throttle pulley, there should be an allen screw/nut that acts as a throttle stop.

I had this happen and it was because that had been adjusted too far out. It wasn't stopping the throttle plate where it needed to be stopped, and it would go too far and get stuck.

take your throttle body off and see if anything behind it is auctually keeping it from opening/closing.i just had this problem too it was old oil that was in my intake manifold all gunked up and making it stick.

That is exactly what I was going to say, it is a vary common problem.
