How to replace EGR on 88 S?

Looking at this thing is frightening. It appears to have 3-4 bolts on top and in the driver's side, then a big heat tube toward the carburetors. Has anyone replaced this before? Sure looks like a pain in the ***...

I got all the bolts off but that tube is driving me nuts. This is nothing like most EGR valves - it's a pain in the ***! Any suggestions?
