I have a problem with my starter and flywheel. when the car is started using the starter, the starter will just spin and not catch the flywheel. The flywheel looks in good working order. When we tried a second starter from a 89 si Sohc it did the same. but still the flywheel looks in good working order. The Car will start if push started. Everything else in the car is in good working order. Can someone please help or give me some kind of advice. Thank you

Sounds like you have the wrong flywheel in there. If the si starter didnt catch either my vote goes to wrong flywheel.

 

Did this just start happing all of a sudden? Or is this after a motor swap?

 

The whole car was sold to me like that so I'm not so sure what's what. Tha ZC engine is completely built from the block up. re-sleeved, bigger pistons. port and polished head, intake and throthle body, venom injectors and Venom 400 pmc. After all this was done the problem started. I don't know if they swap parts out or anything. I just need to get it atleast to start without push starting it. I beleive the guy that sold it to me said it had a CRx si 88-90 starter and its original flywhee, then hey tried the si flywheel with but it dindn't fit. Should I get a starter and a flywheel from a 89 integra?
