Default CAI VS. Front Mount Intake's

I found some here to buy

http://www.speedstash.com/intercooler.html

But are they going to give you the same amount of hp as a CAI, or will it be better? In my opinion, the FMI would give you more air flow & cooler air which would give you more power... all technical comments are greatly appreciated!

I have one, but its not installed... i wouldnt hook it up without having a grillecraft grill cover or something... All the people i see or hear that have them get made fun of for it being an intercooler wanna be.

I think its a better idea though than a cai. i have a grill cover on my car soo i may end up installing mine.

IMO, they don't take into account the proper tuning length for those intake, like AEM and Injen do. Their only goal is to put an intercooler looking air filter on your car.

ahhh the many shades of rice. INTERFOOLER II.
1. the mounting position and flow around the edges negate any velocity stack, (worse than a cone filter)
2. The piping is longer, and appears to be too big to be ideal
3. Takes in warm air from around the radiator, especially when at a stop
4. There are so many angles and hose couplings there will be a lot of turbulence
5. There is no "ramming" effect at all. Whatesoever.
Come on guys research these things, if this was a good design you would see it on a lot more cars

Retarded bullshit. Hmmm...longer piping, no such thing as ram-air, blocks the radiator, have to put a screen/cover over it anyway, etc.. If you think it looks cool, then get it, but it's not going to make you go faster.

He said it perfectly.
Besides being gimmicking, and absolutely rice looking, it's completely unpractical. Also, most of them come with some kind of plexi-glass cover to go over them for when you're driving, that would ruin flow even more. Besides, you would probably feel absolutely no power gains with this intake(as said before, piping is too long, and too big, with too many bends) , it would just make noise, and look stupid.

Better off with a CAI, SRI, or stock.

the risk involved in using that thing greatly outweighs the benefits...why don't you save your money for a mod that will acually provide some real benefit? such as suspension for starters
