Default turbo charge ls or gsr

i am curently driving an ls but it is getting older it has 150 k on it and i beat it up pretty good (was my first car) and i am thinking about getting a gsr and turbo charging it. beacuse i will have to drive this car everyday i want around 300 hp. i am not sure what to do people r telling to keep my ls and turbo charging it but i feel more comftorbale with the b18c1 motor what are some of ur thoughts thnx alot

Well....first you have to analyze your budget. Make sure you know EXACTLY how much money you have to spend on this build. Most of the time you will ALWAYS go over budget. I've seen people boost motors over 200k. My opinion is too do a compression/leakdown test on the motor to make sure it's sound. If that all checks out boost that motor. For the price of a gsr swap and the hassle of putting it in you can have 100 more whp and better turbo components for less $ in the ls. Just my 2 cents. I just built my ls so if you have questions pm me.

buying a GSR = $3000~$4000 depending on where you get it.

+

turbo kit $2500~#3500

VS.

rebuilt LS
aftermarket pistons = $350~$500
aftermarket sleeves = $900
aftermarket rods = $400
labor = $500

+

turbo kit = $2500~$3500

now you make the decision.

okay so i left out the head gasket, arp head studs, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets. but yes other than these things that is all you're gonna need for your motor to make up to 500whp.

thanks! i'm hopeing to get 83mm 9.5:1 pistons soon so i can go into the 400whp range safely on pump gas. i would do some more head work and get some aggressive cams but my wallet is dried right now after buying my new house this past Oct. 04.

i needed a place to hide my baby from thieves.

If you can deal with downtime, rebuild your ls for some more boost>10 lbs max on a stock gsr

If u have the money go wid GSR motor its easier to make 300hp on typical t3/t4 set up on stock internals wid proper tuning
