Default What is best integra between 1992 and 1995 ?

I will be buying my first car in the coming year and i have decided i want an import car. After looking around for a while i realised the only car for me is an integra :D. I am not 100% sure but i didnt think type R's would be in my price range so i am going to look for a non ITR integra. I have $10K AUD (australian dollars) and want to know what is the best integra between 1992 and 1995 seeing as they are the best looking ones i have seen while looking round. By the best one i basically mean performance wise, i plan on doing it up something chronic !

u like the LOng headlights or the Circle ones, im not sure if u got that in australia, i thought u guys had the JDM headlights integra type R style *shrugs*

ive owned a 99 4dr gsr and now i bought a 92 integra RS, im old skool but im looking at a 99 civic si also LOL cause ive always wanted one, i spend 2 much money

I fell in love with my 92 GS Integra. I like the styling vs the newer ones. Plus it is going to cost less. Get the 92ls.

To the first post im not sure what i want, i dont know any engine specifics of any integra. I like the long lights but i would settle for round ones :D. Basically im looking for performance though. I thought i would want a newer rounder looking one like a '94 or '95 but tonight i was out driving with my friend in his subaru Liberty (Legacy for US residents ) and we dragged a really nice 1992 integra. Then 2 seconds later up the road we got dragged off by a new type-R lol. But aswell as not knowing what model i want im not sure of what this is going to cost. I guess i better start looking around more. $10,000 is my limit.

WHere are u from? Australia?

well theres a 2001 Phoenix Yellow Integra Type R salvage title 31k miles for $12,500

Personally for power wise id still get a 92 integra LS, cause u could always run turbo . with a 9:1 compression your good.. BUt u could always run Ls/VTEC also, faster then a normal GSR.. baby ITR

I just bought a 92 integra RS jdm b16a2 motor and a 90 ef9 si HB b16a1
yes i love B series motors LOL

wow 12,000 for a 2001 car, and an integra, thats pretty good. But like i said 10 is my limit. You said a '92 can be turbo'd does that mean any other models cant ? if not what about supercharged ?

thnx for the info though, i'll keep it in mind.

u can turbo any of the integras you're looking to buy, but it will be much easier and keep the costs down to turbo a ls or rs engine than a gsr because of the compression ratio.

i have a 95 gsr, owned it for 2 weeks and i'm absolutly in love with it.

sounds like you need to do some homework to find out what you really want, the biggest difference in ur "scope" of 92-95 is the change in body style.

welcome to H-T

Sometimes u just gotta say, "WHAT THA ****" and just do it..

92-93/91-90 integras ls/rs/gs whatever already have low compression motors, LS motors, NON VTEC DOHC

94+ INtegra LS/RS/GS have the same Motors..

93 gsr- 1.7 liter motor 160hp? DOHC VTEC

94+ GSR motors 1.8 liter DOHC VTEC 170 hp

thnx for the welcome. I guess if the main difference is the body then i will definately go for a 94-95 model. They have a nice round body and looking at http://www.modacar.com they are in a range wich will be easy to purchase mods for. I have seen a fe wdifferent ones but it seems the general feeling is that GSR is a good car and has lots of power. I seen someone say they got a 94 GSR for $3000 and im guessing that's USD can anyone tell me if thats the kind of price range they are actually in ?

lol i just found a site that is selling integras in australia and i had to re-evaluate my budget. To get a 93 upwards model it will cost me close to $15,000 instead of $10,000. the cheapest 94 i found is 12.5 thousand and its a VTi-R. heres the page

I see an AUTOMATIC VTI-R on that page. It says the displacement is 1797 so that must mean it is a gsr. Wow didnt know they had auto gsr's in australia. Out of curiosirt how much money is $12K in US dollars?

I lived in new Zealand before so i can help you out

get the vti-r, its not too expensive. the sir-g is abit pricey but they look nicer. If you want to go cheap then get the 89-92 integra XSi cause those thing come B16A. for 10k though, you could get better turbo cars like Vr4s and Legacy RS turbos and other many turbo cars but its up to you.

Have a look on Ozhonda, http://www.ozhonda.com

yup the vti-r is the audm gsr.

(If someone says they own a gsr down here they mean the mitsubishi lancer gsr)

10k wont find you a very good example of a VTi-R in australia (GSR for you americans)..

I've seen probably 2 or 3 for under 11k and they had over 200,000kms... i paid 13.5k for my '94 VTi-R with 121,000 kms (72,000 miles?) and that was pretty cheap.

You will be able to find a gsi for 10k (non vtec) if you are really set on purchasing a dc2 (dc4).

I dont think aus ever got the b17 in any car, although i might be wrong... and i believe all XSi's are imports?..

and to clarify, aus got the round lights with our type Rs.. ive only ever seen two JDM fronts in my life!

plenty in New Zealand though, as they have very easy import laws

yeh i heard new zealand has lots of cheap imports, i wonder if it would be cheaper to ship one over. And i have thought about it and i can stretch my budget to $15, just means i'll have to wait a bit longer to start any mods lol.

so VTi-R has the Vtec DOHC engine but the GSi doesnt ?, i guess i will go for a VTi-R. I looked in the paper yesterday for Integra's and there were only 3 for sale. A 2001 a 1987 and a 1993 which was $9800, cant remember what type.

i had both cars in the past.

first i had a 95 4dr gs-r that i sold it to my older bro... after a few years and a lot of project cars i ended up with a 93 2dr special edition.

now that i'm currently in the market for another car, or project car in this matter, i'd either get a 4 dr 90 - 93 integra or a 2dr 94 and up integra(or maybe a 4dr if i find a good deal).

either way, you're in the right track. just dont get side-tracked with the project you're starting.

Your government would not like it and make you pay a lot of importing tax.
