Need help on my girls civic
She owns a 2000 civic si (ex in states I guess), I just got her a panasonic deck blue like a champ. And I was wondering how hard it would be to change the bulbs on the gauge cluster as well as the dash and the ac lights to blue. Which bulbs are needed etc...
Thnx fir your help
Thnx fir your help
The gauge cluster is easy just buy an indiglo dash kit (makes it glow blue) but I know they run about 100 dollars AT COST so look for retail at 150 - 250
They are just bulbs in the gauge cluster so you look into seeing if blue replacements are available.
The others should just be bulbs pop the dash off at take a look if they are bulbs then pull them out run to your nearest lordco or UAP/Napa and see they can hook you up....
If you haven't taken a civic dash apart then you may have som e fun....(i own a 2000 civic as well plus I am an installer at a car audio shop) what you need to is take off the piece under the steering column (Three screws (two on the left one on the right)) then remove the piece under the deck (where the cig lighter is) this is six screws two on each side and two in the middle (there should be brass in color)...you will need to make the glove swing low...just press on the sides so the pegs can get past the plastic....there are then four screws with bolt heads behind this piece (up a little) hold the brackets for the deck.... that is all the screws from here push on the back of the deck to pop the clips and then depending on your hand size you may have to reach around the deck and undo the plugs going into the heater controls unless you can squeeze in from the front **Note taking the deck out and going in through this hole might help you ( Panasonics use a no key design on there cages there are little push thingies on either side of the deck) If the deck is ISO mounted then you are SOL and have to struggle with the plugs (ISO mounted is useing the stock brackets and no dash kit) after that the whole unit will fall out..... Hope this helps

thanx man, but the thing is I just wanna change the bulbs on her cluster cause they're yellowish green to blue, I guess I'll just rip it a ppart tommorow and see how it goes.
the cluster can be changed easily, the dash is another problem though...on the back of the climate control buttons alot of hondas have a coating on them so no matter what color bulb you replace it will come out the color of the coating basically...or the mix of the coating color and the color bulb you use...my integra climate control has a blue coating on the back of all the buttons
