gas efficient?
hey, im only getting 210 mpg at MOST. i drive a 2000 honda prelude auto. Im just wondering what you other luders get per tank. Also, would anyone know why im getting such a low mpg?
I think you mean you get 210 miles per a full gas of tank, not mpg.
That's a lil lower than usual. There are many causes to low gas mileage.
Engine condition, the way you drive, alignment, tire pressure, ignition, etc....

22/27 mpg. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I think the 5th gen has a 15.9 gallon tank.
So just divide your number of miles you get on a full tank (assuming you completely run out of gas in your tank) by 15.9 to get your mpg

yea i'm about gettin the same mileage 250 your probably gunnin it and hittin vtec quite often most people get almost 300 from what i've read on other fourms
I haven't tested my car yet but I know it sucks on gas also. IM getting a full tank tomorrow and IM gonna reset the trip meter. When you guys say you get 210, 250 miles or whatever per tank, exactly how long do you drive it on E. I do know that there is just no way in hell that my car gets 22city/27highway mpg....not even close. I don't even think I get 20mpg.

I got pretty bad gas mileage with an h22 in my Civic....low 20's. I can't imagine what it's like in a car that weighs 500lbs more.
The h22 just seems to be a gas hog (compared to other Hondas) IMO.

Every time I stop for gas it always takes about 12 gallons to fill it, and I set the trip after every fillup. I get around 300 Miles to a tank (12 gallons), so that's about 25MPG. Most of that is highway miles too. I have managed to get almost 400 miles out of a tank right after a tune up (30-32mpg), but that was granny driving the whole time. You know, 5th gear thru the city, no Vtec, ect..
the best way to know your exact mpg for that tank is to fill up all the way and reset the tripometer, then drive for however long you feel like, so you have a good average amount of driving, then fill up again. take the total miles you drove for that tank, and divide it by the exact amount you put back in to the tank to fill it up, and you got your mpg.
