D15b Vtec obd0 Questions ?
I have a d15b block in my 1990 si crx. Witch i am guessing its obd0. Can I buy a Vtec head for this motor with out having to convert the wiring. What ecu is used for this ?Is it possible or not ?.
I am trying to do the Mini me swap on my d15b in the 90 crx. Whats the best way to go about this. Corect parts ? Thanks

I geuss you mean you have a d15b2 block?
The easiest way to do it is get a d16y8 head but use your distributor on it to keep it obd0..The obd0 dizzy fits on the d16y8 head without a problem..You can use a d16z6 head also but the obd0 distributor doesnt fit without cutting one of the legs off and makin it fit...
Then to control vtec run the 4 wires to a switch..Msd switch, shift light, vtec controller,..etc..any thing that switches on at a certain rpm..
Thats the easiest way with a y8 head....
If you want to use a d16z6 head then the best way to do it would be to convert the car to obd1 using a obd0-obd1 conversion harness,,add 4 wires to the harness for vtec and pin them into the correct slots on a p28(vtec obd1 ecu)..use the obd1 dizzy thats on the d16z6 head already ..

My block just says d15b on it. I dont need a Ecu ? Or do I. Vtec ecu ? Or can I just wire the 4 vtec wires to the shift light to turn on ?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah you dont need to get a different ecu..
your stock si ecu will run it fine..
The vtec solenoid looks for a 12v switch so you hook it up to the shift light and set the rpm on the tach..
Its better to get a vtec controller or vtec ecu though because you might fry the solenoid..Not sure though about that..
