Default So I finally got my thermal arc wired up and got some gas

I tried welding last night on some scrap metal and all I can say wow this is a hell of a lot harder then I thought it would be. I called B18C1YA and he helped me out a lot but there are so many setting and things I can changed I don't even know what to correct or change to make it better. I am going to take a welding class in feb but until then I am just going to keep on practicing. I rewelded my exhaust seems to be holding and not leaking. I would take some pics but it is really really bad.

For those who are using a thermal arc. What are some good settings to start out on for doing exhaust pipe?

I also tried the pulser but that helped me burn more holes in my test pipes.

yes another thermal arc-er ..
for 16guage pipe i recently welded a dp .. i had the setings at around 70/54 amps .. pulsing .. 60% and low hz like 10 or 13 so u can see the arc bounce back between the two amp settings ..

once u get the settings donw right .. your gonna love the thermal arc .. its a bit intimidating at first but keep at it
