Sorry agian peeps but does this actually work?
OK i was wondering does this acually work if you follow the steps to install coilover sleeves..someone said to undo the top bolts and everything before you jack up the car...then as you jack it up it will uncompress....any insight to this?
yeah it works its the ghetto way.. just loosen up the strut bolts up top put a hex wrench and 14mm and loosen it up all the ways then jack the car up spring decompresses.. do it that way if its your only resort and make sure people are clear away from the car.
Yes there is (actually being discussed in another thread on this same page
). You can do it this way, but there isn't enough suspension movement to let the coil extend fully. Your shock will still be jamed in there really good & now that the top of the shaft isn't in the upper mount, you can't re-compress it. This leaves you in a very dangerous situation.
Just rent the spring compressor once (its free anyways). After you put in coilover spirngs, you never have to worry about it again.
