These thefts and now from garages too are ridiculous. ROFL COPTER was wondering what he could do when teefs were trying to get into his garage... welllllll there ya go.

Anything is defeatable. Its a matter of making the act of stealing your car such a painful, annoying task - that this alone deters (amatuer) thieves.

Couldn't you just drive around the pole?

I always think of doing something like that, but a chain would be pretty easy to break also...errr...if they want it they'll get it...that's the sucky part.

i think it would have to be like a 1 one entrance thing. like if you had a garage and you put the pole up behind ur car so there is the pole behind and the house in front..

i like it but it doesn't help you at school, work, or any other place than home.

I agree. I'd rock those in the garage and on the bball court here at home.

Dogs, guns, swords, and those = deterrence.

And if all else fails then just buy another.

The thing with the pole is that you can eventuall get around those. You can also go down to your local Lowes and make them for a 1/4 the price. It's very simple. If you wanted to get tech, dig up your drive way, and install the posts on a hydrolic system so the raise up and down via a remote hidden somewhere or whatever you want to use to make them move. This system would be much much stronger, not to mention the thieves would have to be pros to get the car.

For example, you take the system I'm talking about and install say five hydrolic posts for a two car garage. This would alleviate any gap for the car to be moved then driven out. Use materials that are strong enough, **** even go solid steel on your posts. This would be similar to a bank vault actuated lock.

As soon as I get my house, I think I will design a system like that.

Aloha,
Brandon

Exactly what I was thinking, Brandon.

Even with 3 of these there is no way they could get my **** out of the garage without attracting attention/the cops.

And this sleepy little suburb has cops just waiting to go Code 3 to a crime scene in progress. lol.

The thing is, as a last resort, to protect yourself in your own garage, it has basically come down to puting up these poles. If you can afford it, have it done. It is really a simple and effective idea. Like said before, as soon as I get the house, these are going in. They will be installed in the inside of the garage so if some **** face decides he's going to drive into my garage to break down the door is going to get a rude snap back to reality.

aloha,
Brandon

by the time it takes that much effort, hopefully thieves will move on to the next car. if you make your car un-appealing enough, it won't be so much a matter of not being able to steal your car ('cause in the end, they can steal ANYthing, right?), but that there are easier targets out there and they'll inevitably rape and molest someone else's caR, but not your own.

Since I have experience with the material and the tools, I'm going to put my money on the hardened solid steel. I would bet to get through 1 with a diameter of 4" it would take close to a half hour, pending the asshat knows what kind of blade to use. By then, the noise would have drawn so much attention that the ****** would be arrested or would have given up. Problem solved beotch.

As I said, my neighbors will call the cops if this happens. Plus the alarm on the house helps as well. lol

It's all about defense-in-depth.
