i had them on my car and they rubbed in the frons so I changed to a 205/45/16. The 50 series has a too tall of a side wall...

205/45/16 is the correct size if you like for your speedometer to tell you the right speed.
205 - width of the tire, in cm
45 - height of sidewall compared to width (45%)
50 series are too big.
jw, why do you ask?

the guy i bought my rims from had 195/50/16 tires on there, an unusual size. no rubbing issues, but when they wear out i'm going to 205/45's

Darn touch pad on my laptop. I must have hit it so the rest of my post was not included...

I ask because I have a set of 16" wheels with 205/50/16s. I ran them on my accord and loved them. According to the tire calculators I used, looks like the speedo would be off ~2.7% or about 1.5mph at 60 mph. The tires only have 2k miles on them, so they are in excellent shape. I'd take a big hit $$ wise to buy new tires so I was curious if anyone else had run them with good/bad results.

My intent is to put them on and run them until they need replacing and then replace w/ 205/45's. I'll let you know if they work for me. My suspension setup is mild, just stock ITR front and rear. Thanks for the feedback

yup me too... i also had a mild drop on koni's and gc's.. they rubbed and i'd bottom out.... i had a catastrophic tire blow on me because of the rubbing.... i only had on 205/50's for a week with 80% tred cause my previous tires were bald, but the passenger tire still went out on me. anyways i'm running on 215/40's on all four corners, which i also had on the rears of the car when i had 205/50's on the front for the week... what a combo, huh?
