Adjustable cam gears.......
What is the theory behind this. The injectors timing can not be adjusted unless you reprogram the ecu. If you advance your cam, wouldn't that cause your valves to open too soon (before the injectors pulse) and close too late with the injector not finished pulsing. This would cause the the air fuel mixture atomization to be disrupted and liquidfy. This all being done with a stock cam. I had one on my civic a few years ago when STR first started making them and all I noticed was a sound change in the exhaust. Am I correct or am I thinking to much? If this is not true, then what degree is best to set a stock d16a6 or d16z6 on for more top end power? Any input would be very helpful.
The injectors will spray according to the timing at the distributor. The idea of a cam gear is to adjust the cam timing as well as the spark timing instead of just the spark timing.
Just re-read your post, if you are talking about how long the injector stays open, then no the cam gear won't adjust that. Thats the only thing I could think of that you would need to reprogram for...
