Default Hybrid header? smsp? Hytech? JDM? w00t...

Hello, I have researched ALOT in these days, since I made the post I was beat up about being a JDM *****, wich I am not. Just I can easily find JDM products and with warranty. US brands dont have much impact in europe yet....

But, Im not someone who decides just by a name. So I really looked for some info in headers and here is what I found.

Conventional headers , 4-1 for high, 4-2-1 for midle range, are now part of the past. Some US brands developed the Hybrid headers. They have a larger diametre and are longer taking part of both worlds.

So they will performe well at lower rpms , midle rpms and higher rpms.

Hytech and smsp is the best I found so far, so Any input in these ones?

One good exhaust system can gve you around 15-20 whp, if you take 15 for example from those 15 12 will be given by your header so, this is really important decition....help me here.

Tubular, it is easy for your choice. Spend the money, do it right, dont make your own.

Good luck, and make sure to post up what you get.

Don't forget that some companies will make you a header and or a full custom exhaust to match what you have in the motor...

So if you have some wild power it might be worth it to contact the places and see what it would cost and the build time.

But for an 'off the shelf' header, Toda is hard to beat.

Hytech and SMSP are very good quality headers. Both have a 2.5in collector, and are hybrid headers, which take the place of the stock cat location. Other good headers that also have a 2.5in collector are the TODA, Spoon, DC JMP 4-1, Type One Rcing 4-2-1, and the Comptech Race header. The comptech race header is a copy of the hytech header. In order of best headers
1. SMSP and hytech
2. toda and spoon
3. type one
4. dc jdm 4-1

SMSP is as good as a hytech for the money wiht some proper tuning. I would say based on what I have read and learned that your only talking about a 2-3 whp difference if that.
