Default Underdrive pully

What do you guys think of an underdrive pully application for the 4th Gen? I know that it draws electrical power from perriferal devices and uses it for hp. Something like 5whp right? Well, my problem is that my car suffers from that wonderful distributor problem that we all have. I actually STALLED my AUTOMATIC after I got my 7.5 inch wide rims, and was parking while using my AC. Do you think I can safely use and underdrive pully. Any 4th gen currently using one?

I have the aem kit it came with a power steering and alternator pulley, I have only installed the power steering pully. I did manage to pull off my best runs at the drag strip since the install. It alone was good for a tenth in the 1/8 mile

Doesn't actually "Give" you HP, just loosens it up.

i have seen low horsepoweer cars with fuel problems stall wih the AC on at low RPM
pulleys just realive some excess drag on the engine making it work less to do almost the same thing, you will notice that your lights will dim and steering will become harder at low RPM because the engine is using that power elsewhere at that moment
Forced Accord is right, it doesn't create it's own horsepower, just frees up stolen power from the engine

Yes, I know it frees it up. I think I'm talking about the crank pully. Would anyone recommend this upgrade for the price and considering its downside?

The crank pulley swap gives you the most power. However... I remember reading an article in Turbo magazine from a couple years ago that had a review on AEM's pulley set. They showed the dyno chart and made a bar graph with the gains at all the RPM points from 2,000 - 6,500. The average was like 4 horse with a peak of like 7 at around 4,000-4,500.
I also read that Unorthodox Racing makes the best ones that produce the most power.
May be all hype.. but if you were running boost it would make a more significant gain.

Any other companies besides AEM and Unorthodox?

i have heard horror stories about the crank pulley. aftermarket crank pulleys don't have the harmonic balancer that the stock crank pulley has.

I found the crank pulley on ebay for $68 without the belt. What do you guys think? Is it really worth it? I know I'm being a nag, but I really dont want to make that mistake. Its made by top fuel.

i've heard horror stories aswell. I would not recommend the crank pulley it will mess up you engine in the long run just stick with the stock crank pulley the other pullies are fine just go to an autoparts store and figure out the right size belts.
